This has been a looooong time coming, but the finish line is at last in sight for our Fantasy Game. It even has a name now: Argor Fantasy Role Playing Game. Or Argor FRPG for short.
I’m just putting the finishing touches to the rules before sending them to a professional author support service for final proofing. I’m really glad to have come across this service. After working on these rules for years now I know I’m too close to be objective about them, so I think to do the job properly this is just what I need.
You can find details of the service I’m using at www.facebook.com/bythebookremoteassistance
Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and are set for a Happy New Year! To kick 2014 off, we’re participating in wargamevault.com’s Winter Offensive 25% discount sale. You can find our stuff right here.
The sale ends on January 2nd.
Hi everyone, I’m pleased to announce that Draken Games has been re-branded, and that Catalogue 6 is now out to promote this re-brand. As well as re-badging our products with the new logo, I’ve taken the opportunity to correct typos and make some design improvements. I’ve also looked at our prices: don’t worry, Catalogue 6 sees only one price rise, Last Stand at Kirrinbahr. But I think this is more than compensated by dropping the price of Vectis by a full US dollar and reducing the prices of several of our printed products.
As is now customary, our latest catalogue includes a free mini-game. This time it’s a fun hex-and-counter wargame called Santa & the Goblin War. You can download your free copy by going to the About page on this site and clicking in the image. Alternatively, you can get it here.
Enjoy!
The rules for our Napoleonic hex-and-counter wargame Vectis feature a series of fictional vignettes to illustrate how the game progresses. These were inspired from an actual playtest of the game. This playtest is now available as a free Powerpoint presentation here.
Enjoy!
Been a while since I last posted, so just to keep you all in the loop…
Playtesting over the summer went more-or-less as planned. As expected, it threw up areas that needed further work, so I’ll be focussing on those over the coming weeks before more playtesting.
Which means there will be no new releases this side of Christmas, that’s for sure. However, things will still be happening: there will be a further catalogue which will include a new free mini-game (the Christmas elves v goblins wargame I’ve been promising!). The newsletter will also launch a complete rebranding of Draken Games, which I’ve been working on in the background for some time now.
So summer holidays are here again, which those of you who’ve been following Draken Games on the web from back in the Myspace days will know is when I get to spend some quality thinking-about-games time. This year sees me sat by the pool in a stupidly hot part of Spain with (yay!) good wi-fi. As the holiday progresses I’ll be play-testing aspects of my long-promised As Yet Un-Named Fantasy Game with more-or-less willing family members. I suppose I should be working on the freebie game for the winter catalogue, which (as voted for in a poll) will be a Santa versus Goblins wargame. With temperatures hitting 40 deg. C today, I hope you’ll understand that I’m not in the mood for THAT right now….
